The Purposes of Kanawha Garden Club Are:


  • To educate and stimulate the interest of its members and the general public in the fields of horticulture, gardening, floral design, civic beautification, conservation, the environment, and the arts relating thereto.

  • To encourage and promote the protection and preservation of trees, wild and cultured flowers, and birds.

  • To promote and aid in civic improvement and beautification projects consistent with the mission of the Club, and to contribute funds and the time, efforts.


Established in 1921, Kanawha Garden Club is a non-profit organization in Charleston, West Virginia. In 1923, it joined The Garden Club of America, a national gardening, conservation, and civic improvement organization with 199 member clubs and 18,000 members nationwide.

Kanawha Garden Club is the only West Virginia garden club member of The Garden Club of America.
